The Business Transaction/ Litigation Department is involved in providing client support from the beginning task of choosing the appropriate business formation through preparation of all documentation necessary to form the business organization. Class Actions have become a more and more popular method for plaintiffs to resolve a dispute with businesses. These can be costly and complex proceedings requiring the expertise and experience of attorneys who have practiced in this area. At Callahan, McCune & Willis, APLC we have litigated class action issues from the Trial Court level to The California Supreme Court.

The Elder Law department is one of our newest teams at Callahan, McCune & Willis, APLC and is dedicated to providing quality legal services to older clients or those serving the needs of older persons. This group of highly trained professionals addresses those matters which affect senior citizens the most, including: Age discrimination in Employment, Medicare and MediCaid coverage, Protection of Retirement Income, Savings and Benefits, Housing and Nursing Home Issues and compliance with state regulations and The Americans with Disability Act. |

| EMPLOYMENT/LABOR |

The Employment / Labor Department handles the representation of businesses and individuals in all areas of wrongful termination, sexual harassment and discrimination commencing at the state and federal agency level to the initiation and conclusion of civil actions. In addition to litigation, this department works with clients to draft employment manuals as well as sexual harassment and discrimination policies to eliminate potential future litigation. This includes training of employees and Human Resources personnel on policies, investigation of complaints and recommendations on resolutions of complaints.
The Employment / Labor Department is also involved with the representation of parties on California and Federal wage and hour issues at the Labor Board level or in civil lawsuits. This department interfaces with the Insurance Coverage Department to assist clients in obtaining insurance coverage for all claims and losses where possible. |

Callahan, McCune & Willis, APLC'S transactional entertainment practice involves the firm in virtually all areas of the entertainment industry including motion pictures, television, theater and music. Representation includes, studios, record companies, production companies, financiers, actors, directors, writers, producers and recording artists, among others. The firm's activities include the drafting and negotiating of distribution, talent, licensing, publishing, financing, agency and other industry agreements.
The entertainment litigation practice ranges from contractual disputes and copyright claims to defamation and right of publicity actions. The firm represents clients across the spectrum of motion picture, television and music in both federal and state cases.

The Products Liability Department represents manufacturers, distributors and retailers of all types of products on design, product defect and breach of warranty cases. These cases are approached in three phases. First, a thorough investigation of the relationship between the parties so that any issues of indemnity can be addressed prior to engaging in costly litigation. Second, a determination of the exact nature of the product defect through limited discovery or evaluation by an expert. Third, a recommended resolution, either through motion for summary judgment or development of the case for trial depending on the outcome of the first two phases. |
